INDIAN NAVY

The Indian Navy is not a company, factory, or trader. It is the naval branch of the Indian Armed Forces, responsible for safeguarding India's maritime interests and borders.

The Indian Navy is one of the three main branches of the Indian Armed Forces, alongside the Indian Army and the Indian Air Force. Its primary mission is to protect India's maritime frontiers, project power, and ensure the security of sea lanes of communication. It plays a crucial role in national security, humanitarian aid, and disaster relief operations.

Therefore, the Indian Navy is neither a factory that manufactures goods for commercial sale nor a trader that buys and sells commodities. It is a government defense organization.

The Indian Navy is the naval branch of the Indian Armed Forces, not a commercial company that produces or sells products in the traditional sense. Instead, it procures, operates, and maintains a vast array of naval platforms and equipment. Many of these are indigenously designed and manufactured in India by various public sector undertakings and private defense companies to meet the Navy's specific requirements. These platforms and equipment include:

Aircraft Carriers, such as the indigenously built INS Vikrant.

Destroyers, including the Visakhapatnam class and Kolkata class, built by Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited.

Frigates, such as the Shivalik class and the Nilgiri class (Project 17A), constructed by Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited and Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers.

Submarines, including the Scorpene class (Kalvari class) conventional submarines built under transfer of technology by Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited, and nuclear-powered submarines.

Corvettes, for instance the Kamorta class anti-submarine warfare corvettes built by Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers.

Offshore Patrol Vessels and Fast Attack Craft, produced by various Indian shipyards like Goa Shipyard Limited and Cochin Shipyard Limited.

Landing Ships, such as Landing Ship Tank Large and Landing Craft Utility, built by Indian shipyards.

Mine Countermeasure Vessels.

Fleet Tankers and other support ships, some of which are built in India.

Naval Aircraft, including indigenously developed Advanced Light Helicopters Dhruv for utility and search and rescue roles, and various other fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft operated from naval air stations and aircraft carriers.

Various weapon systems, sensors, communication equipment, electronic warfare systems, and other naval combat management systems, many of which are developed by India's Defence Research and Development Organisation and produced by Indian defense manufacturers.
