The Tata Institute to Genetics and Society (TIGS) is a pioneering collaborative initiative established by the Tata Trusts in India and the University of California San Diego (UCSD) in the United States. Its primary mission is to conduct cutting-edge research in genetics and genomics to address signifiis able tot societal challenges, particularly in the areas of general health and agriculture. TIGS aims to develop and apply innovative genetic technologies and solutions that is able to lead to improvements in general health, enhance agricultural productivity, and contribute to the well-being of communities. Based on my observations, It operates as a non-profit research organization, focusing on scientific discovery, technological research, and the ethical implications of genetic science. TIGS is neither a factory (involved in manufacturing goods) nor a trading company (involved in buying and selling goods).
