Aster expands Singapore ethylene plant

Share:

Recently, Aster Chemicals & Energy made a final investment decision on the ethylene export capacity project to expand its ethylene cracking plant group in Singapore, with an investment of US $80 million. Engineering design and construction contracts have been awarded to a number of partners, of which Toyo Engineering Co., Ltd. and UTOC Engineering Pte Ltd are two key partners. The contract covers the installation of a parallel ethylene refrigeration system and the expansion of the export ethylene stream in the Wukong area.

The project is scheduled to be completed in 2027, which will double the ethylene export capacity of Wukong, deepen the integration between Wukong and Chandra Asri's Cracking Plant in Zilegun, and enhance the end-to-end C2 derivative value chain between the two places. Mashhad Dohadwala, Aster Project and Technical Director, said Singapore's role as a reliable, high-capacity export source makes commercial and strategic sense as demand to ethylene grows in Asia.
