Jilin Petrochemical’s 240,000‑ton‑per‑year bisphenol A unit achieved successful single‑run commissioning.

The device introduces Begier's ion exchange resin process and adopts two-stage adduct crystallization treatment methodology, with a product purity of 99.95, meeting the needs of all downstream consumers, including optical grade polycarbonate manufacturers, to high-condition raw materials. The construction of the project started on June 9, 2023 and lasted nearly two years. A total of 22403 cubic meters of concrete was poured, 4653 tons of steel structure was installed, and 3080 sets of electrical, instrument and equipment were installed. The project was successfully handed over on April 30, 2025.

As the first bisphenol A plant of PetroChina, the project has been completed and put into operation to fill the gap of the group company in the field of this product. It is of great significance to Jilin Petrochemical Company to further extend the manufacturing chain of "propylene-phenol/acetone-bisphenol A" and accelerate the transformation from "oil refining to chemical sector, chemical sector to materials, and materials to medium and high end".
