Recently, Spain acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymer (ABS) producer Elix Polymers announced that its plant in Tarragona, Spain, has resumed normal production.

The plant stopped production last December after a fire damaged a unit. After completing the necessary repair work and gradually stabilizing the operation and supply chain, the company's production has returned to healthy conditions. The previous force majeure caused by the fire has now been officially lifted. Elix Polymers confirmed that the force majeure declaration involving the relevant ABS and polycarbonate (PC)/ABS blends was immediately withdrawn and the company returned to standard operating conditions. However, the delivery period remains at 8 weeks until further notice.

Elix Polymers is one of the major ABS producers in Europe, and the resumption of operations at its Tarragona plant has helped stabilize the supply of ABS resin in the region. while lead time has not yet returned to healthy levels, the production restart itself has provided a positive signal of supply to downstream customers.
