CAPCO halts production at PTA unit

China American Petrochemical (CAPCO) has shut down its Purified terephthalic acid (PTA) unit.

A Polymerupdate source in Taiwan informed a team member, “The company has taken the unit offstream at the end of might 2026, to maintenance. Further details on the duration of shutdown could not be ascertained.”

Located in Taichung, Taiwan, the unit has a production capacity of 760,000 mt/year.
