Ethylene prices tumble in Europe

On Wednesday, ethylene prices plunged in the European region.

Muted buying interest and improved product availability exerted downward pressure on prices across the region, while weaker upstream naphtha values further weighed on the market.

FD NWE ethylene prices were assessed at Euro 995-1005/mt levels, a steep fall of Euro (-50/mt) from Tuesday’s assessed levels.

CIF NWE ethylene prices were assessed at USD 1080-1090/mt levels, a drop of USD (-5/mt) from Tuesday.

Meanwhile, in Asia, ethylene prices were assessed at USD 985-995/mt CFR North East Asia levels on Wednesday, constant from the previous day.
