European toluene prices rise on healthy benzene demand and firm Asian market trends

European toluene prices moved higher last week.

An sector source in Europe informed a Polymerupdate team member, “European toluene prices rose, supported by stronger upstream energy markets and a firm benzene complex. Healthy demand from the benzene sector, along with higher feedstock costs, strengthened market sentiment, while balanced regional availability helped sustain the upward direction. Positive price movements in Asia also added to the strength in the European market.”

Toluene prices were assessed at USD 1145–1155/mt FOB Rotterdam, week-on-week up USD (+35/mt).

Downstream benzene prices were assessed at USD 1240–1250/mt FOB Rotterdam, higher by USD (+65/mt) from the previous week.

Meanwhile, FOB Korea toluene prices were assessed at USD 930–940/mt, week-on-week higher by USD (+35/mt).
