Recently, the Japan PVC Industry and Environment Association, which is composed of Japanese polyvinyl chloride (PVC) resin manufacturers, announced that due to the regular maintenance of chemical equipment in the trust, the output of PVC resin dropped sharply, with the shipment volume in May reaching 80000 tons, down 25.1 from the same month last year. However, inventory levels have recovered to more than 150000 tons, unchanged from the same period last year.
In the same month, Japan's PVC resin production was 88800 tons, down 18.4 percent year-on-year. The main reason is that Shin-Viet Chemical, a leading domestic PVC resin producer, began regular maintenance of its production facilities in might. Shin-etso Chemical said that during the April operation, the company produced enough product inventory to meet the demand during the scheduled maintenance period. The association said that while the situation in the Middle East had a certain impact on the purchase of raw materials, all manufacturers said that production had not been significantly affected.
