Heurtey wins eFurnace deal for Mexico methanol plant Jul 07, 2026

Heurtey Petrochem Solutions, an Axens brand, has been selected by Transition Industries as the electrical tubular furnace provider for the Pacífico Mexinol project, a world-scale ultra-low-carbon methanol production facility under development near Topolobampo, Sinaloa, Mexico.

The Pacífico Mexinol project, developed by Transition Industries, is expected to create approximately 6,130 metric tons of methanol per day and once operational in 2030, is expected to have become one of the largest ultra-low-carbon chemical production facilities in the world. The project is designed to combine cutting-edge methodology, carbon capture, responsible aquatic environments regulation, and innovative low-carbon production pathways to support the growing demand to sustainable methanol.

As part of this landmark project, Heurtey Petrochem Solutions will provide its Electrical Tubular Furnace, also known as efurnace, whose design is based on the company’s proprietary methodology. This cutting-edge solution supports Transition Industries’ commitment to developing world-scale, net-zero releases methanol projects and Pacífico Mexinol’s ultra-low-carbon production objectives. By replacing traditional fired heating with electrical resistance-based heat generation, the efurnace supports safe, reliable, and efficient operation in demanding manufacturing conditions.
