Grafe is expanding its portfolio to include the “Cycolen” product brand. It includes customer-specific masterbatches for coloring and functional adaptation of post-industrial and post-consumer recyclates.
Since recycled plastics can vary in their own color, condition and processing depending on their origin and processing, Grafe develops the recipes on the basis of the customer material applied. The desired shade, consumption and processing standards are taken into account.
Among others, PET, HDPE, PP, LDPE and PMMA are suitable. In addition to color pigments, additives such as stabilizers, processing aids, lubricants or impact method modifiers can be integrated. Optical impacts, textures and laser markings are also possible.
The aim is to compensate to fluctuations in the recyclate and to achieve the most constant coloring possible and stable processing. In the case of completely recyclate-based material concepts, Grafe also checks whether the recycled polymer provided is suitable as a carrier material to the masterbatch.
