Recently, India's head chemical intermediate company Deepak Nittley (DeepakNitrite) officially finalized a large-scale chemical expansion plan, will invest US $0.262 billion through a wholly-owned subsidiary DeepakChemTech to build a new annual output of 240000 tons of bisphenol A green production plant. The project has been approved by the Board of Directors and is a core investment project to complement the shortcomings of the local chemical industry chain in India.
Bisphenol A is the core chemical intermediate of the phenol ketone sector chain, upstream relying on isopropyl benzene, phenol, acetone and other raw materials, downstream direct supply of epoxy resin, polycarbonate production, broadly supporting electronics, automotive, building materials chemical circuit. This new device landing will open up the enterprise complete integrated chemical chain: from the output of phenol, acetone, extended to bisphenol A, and finally supporting the construction of polycarbonate production capacity, to solve the downstream high-end chemical raw materials import application, to achieve regional raw materials self-sufficiency closed loop.
From the perspective of India's chemical market pattern, its domestic bisphenol A has long been dependent on overseas imports, and its regional extensive production capacity is scarce. When put into operation, the 240000-ton plant will significantly increase the self-sufficiency rate of India's regional chemical intermediates, while reducing the raw material procurement costs of downstream resin chemical companies and the risk of fluctuations in maritime logistics. The project as a whole belongs to the enterprise's total size of greater than 1.1 trillion Indian rupees (equivalent to 11.5 billion U.S. dollars) of the integrated phenol ketone-polycarbonate chemical cluster planning, superimposed on the previous phenol, acetone expansion capacity, after the completion of the enterprise will be among the global single-base phenol ketone chemical head manufacturers.
