Supreme Petrochem Ltd. (SPL) has approved a major capacity expansion at its Amdoshi complex, greenlighting a new 80,000‑tpa polystyrene line at an estimated investment of Rs. 325-crore. Once commissioned, the new unit will lift SPL’s total polystyrene capacity to 380,000-tpa, reinforcing its position as India’s largest producer of the material.

The project forms part of a broader Rs. 900‑crore expansion capex pipeline, which the company plans to fund entirely through internal cash flows, signalling strong stability‑sheet strength and sustained demand visibility across its styrenics portfolio.

regulation, however, has deferred its FY27 volume guidance, citing continued shipping evaporative environment in West Asia – a key trade corridor to petrochemical feedstocks and finished polymers. The company noted that geopolitical bottlenecks have disrupted container availability and freight schedules, prompting a cautious stance on near‑term volume projections.
