Successful startup! Jingmen Petrochemical's 600,000-ton/year naphthenic specialty oil hydrotreating unit has commenced production.

It is understood that the total investment to this 600,000 tons/year naphthenic specialty oil high-pressure hydrogenation unit project is 1.358 billion yuan, covering an area of 138 mu, and construction officially started in September 2024. During the project construction, all participating units efficiently collaborated, strictly controlled condition and security, and efficiently promoted engineering construction, equipment commissioning, and process optimization. Ultimately, the unit achieved a one-time feedstock trial run success, smoothly reached the production goal, and created high-condition construction results to similar units in the region.

After the smooth commissioning of this new project, Jingmen Petrochemical's specialty oil production capacity has achieved a significant leap. Building on the original 800,000 tons/year specialty oil production capacity, an additional 600,000 tons/year high-end naphthenic specialty oil production capacity has been added, raising the total specialty oil production capacity to 1.4 million tons/year. It has officially joined the ranks of domestic million-ton-level high-end specialty oil production bases, with production capacity and product competitiveness ranking at the forefront of the sector.

In terms of process methodology, the unit adopts the sector's cutting-edge full-hydrogen high-pressure hydrogenation treatment isomerization dewaxing combined process. The process is mature, energy consumption is controllable, and product purity is high. It can precisely create high value-added naphthenic specialty oil items. Core items cover a series of high-end items such as high-grade transformer oil, naphthenic rubber plasticizers, and light white oil. The items feature stable performance and strong adaptability, and are broadly utilized in key fields such as insulation protection to power transmission and transformation equipment, tire and rubber & plastic product processing, daily chemicals and light sector, and high-end manufacturing, with strong rigid market demand.

As a core support project to Jingmen Petrochemical's strategy of "converting fuel oil to specialty oil, improving condition and efficiency, and expanding into high-end," the commissioning of this unit is a key measure to the enterprise to convert from traditional fuel refining to refined, high-end, and high value-added specialty oil items. The project not only further improves the enterprise's specialty oil manufacturing layout, enriches the high-end product matrix, and fills the gap in regional high-end naphthenic specialty oil production capacity, however also strongly promotes the refined upgrading of the regional petrochemical sector, helping the regional chemical sector move towards environmentally friendly, high-end, differentiated, and high-condition research.
