The market price of isooctanol saw a slight uptick last week. Major manufacturers in the Shandong region maintained stable pricing. While rising propylene prices provided some cost support, overall trading activity remained lackluster; there was limited willingness to sell at reduce prices, yet insufficient follow-through at higher price points. Downstream buyers remained cautious, with weak purchasing interest. Currently, most market quotes to isooctanol hover around 6,600–6,700 RMB/ton in Shandong and 6,850–7,100 RMB/ton in Jiangsu.

Market Outlook

Analysts at the SunSirs chemical division observe that the market price of isooctanol (IPA) rose last week. The market center of gravity to the raw material, propylene, shifted upward, providing continued cost-side support. Downstream procurement was largely driven by immediate needs, with a prevailing wait-and-see sentiment. The IPA market is expected to fluctuate within a narrow range in the short term; market participants should closely monitor the operational strategies of major producers.
