Market analysis
Last week, the ammonium biphosphate (MAP) market saw a slight downward direction in prices amidst generally weak trading conditions. While the price of raw material sulfur remained high—providing continued cost support—downstream purchasing interest from compound fertilizer producers was subdued. Market demand was sluggish, with activity largely limited to essential restocking and few new orders being finalized. As of August 14, market quotes to 55% powdered MAP were approximately 4,350-4,450 RMB/ton in Hubei, 4,400-4,500 RMB/ton in Henan, and 4,300-4,350 RMB/ton in Sichuan.
Regarding sulfur as a raw material, prices saw minor fluctuations last week, with market supply and demand remaining stable. Downstream buyers engaged in essential restocking, while market trading was cautious and a wait-and-see sentiment prevailed. In the short term, sulfur prices are expected to consolidate at high levels.
Market Outlook:
Analysts from SunSirs observe that the market to ammonium biphosphate (MAP) has recently seen a slight downward direction. While raw material prices remain high—providing continued cost support—downstream purchasing enthusiasm is weak. In the short term, the MAP market is expected to undergo minor fluctuations and consolidation.
