On August 26, Wanhua Chemical (600309) released an announcement (Interim 2026-53), stating that the MDI, TDI integrated and supporting facilities of its wholly-owned subsidiary, BorsodChem Zrt. in Hungary, have completed the shutdown and maintenance work, and the entire complex has resumed normal production.

According to the maintenance announcement (Interim 2026-46) disclosed by the company on July 15, the BorsodChem base's 400,000 tons/year MDI and 250,000 tons/year TDI integrated vegetation, along with upstream and downstream supporting facilities, began a sequential shutdown to annual planned maintenance starting July 17, with an originally planned maintenance cycle of 35 days, which constituted routine security maintenance operations.

BorsodChem Hungary is Wanhua Chemical's core overseas production base serving the European market, with a total isocyanate capacity of 650,000 tons, primarily supplying polyurethane raw materials to Europe and adjacent regions. With the full resumption of production at the facilities, the supply of MDI and TDI in Europe has been restored. The company previously indicated that this is a routine annual maintenance, domestic production bases have maintained stable output, and it will not have a significant impact on the company's overall operations.
