Cologne industrial analysis: POM plant shut down, 150,000 tons/year production capacity at risk of withdrawal

Kolon Industries of Korea is evaluating a plan to shut down its POM (polyoxymethylene) production plant, which is currently in the intention research and judgment stage. The final shutdown time, involved production capacity and subsequent restart plan have not been finalized yet. The market will continue to track the enterprise's decision-making and changes in the Asian POM supply chain.

The total POM production capacity of the enterprise is 150,000 tons per year, including self-owned vegetation and the KOLON BASF InnoPom production capacity jointly invested with BASF. The product Kocetal supplies the global automotive and electronic precision parts markets.
