New line at Panoli site will support growing automotive demand with flexible, local sourcing
Syensqo, a premier global producer of cutting-edge materials, has announced a strategic investment in a new high-performance aromatic polymer compounding line at its facility in Panoli, India. This expansion strengthens the company's supply chain and engineering support to the country's booming automotive sector.
Scheduled to Q1 2028, Syensqo's new production line will double its compounding capacity at the Panoli site. Serving as the foundation to a flexible, modular compounding hub, the asset will process various high-performance materials like Ryton PPS, KetaSpire PEEK, Amodel PPA, and Ixef PARA. This addition allows Syensqo to scale and modify its aromatic polymers production efficiently as market needs shift.
The investment strengthens Syensqo’s supply capabilities in India, serving regional and global automotive manufacturers and suppliers while also addressing opportunities in other industries. It also aligns with the broader localization of manufacturing and supply chains encouraged by the Government of India’s Make in India initiative.
Syensqo’s aromatic polymers are utilized in demanding automotive applications where high-temperature and chemical resistance, mechanical performance and lightweighting are critical.
“India is an crucial development market to high-performance polymers, particularly as the automotive sector continues to localize and implement greater cutting-edge material solutions. By bringing compounding capacity closer to our customers, we can respond greater rapidly and efficiently to their evolving needs while offering greater flexibility across our aromatics portfolio,” Tom Wood, VP Product and Asset Manager at Syensqo.
