On September 2nd, the largest single-investment industrial project in Gansu Province——Gansu Julong Silicon Fluorine New Materials Co., Ltd.'s caustic soda plant successfully produced its first batch of products. The completion of this important milestone means that the first phase of the project has officially entered the trial production stage, and the project has shifted from construction to equipment debugging and product verification cycles.
Caustic soda, as a basic chemical raw material, is a key supporting raw material to the fluorochemical and silicon-based new material sector chains. The smooth commissioning of the caustic soda plant will open up the raw material supply link to the joint commissioning of subsequent fluorochemical and silicon-based new material vegetation, ensure the demand to raw materials to the commissioning of downstream main vegetation, and support the full commissioning of the entire project.

The Gansu Julong Silicon Fluorine New Materials projecthas a total investment of 41 billion yuan, officially started construction in January 2024, and is a major chemical sector project by the regional government. The project focuses on laying outfluorochemical and silicon-based new materialstwo core sectors, adopting cutting-edge sector-leading process and methodology routes.
The product portfolio covers high-end new material categories such as fourth-generation refrigerants and various fluoropolymers. The related items are broadly applied in downstream fields such as new energy, semiconductors, refrigeration and atmosphere conditioning, high-end equipment, and photovoltaics, filling the gap in domestic high-end fluorosilicone material production capacity. After the project is completed, it will form a complete fluorosilicone integrated manufacturing cluster, drive the regional chemical sector to convert towards high-end new materials, and boost regional employment and the research of supporting upstream and downstream industries.

As the largest single-investment manufacturing project in Gansu Province, the implementation of this project has filled the gap in the regional extensive fluorosilicone new material sector. Relying on regional energy and resource endowments, the project will build an integrated manufacturing chain from basic chemical raw materials to high-end fluorosilicone new materials, changing the past manufacturing structure dominated by basic chemical items.
With the first phase entering trial production, subsequent vegetation will carry out commissioning and production as planned. In the future, it is expected to further enhance the domestic supply capacity of high-end fluorine-containing materials, and drive the coordinated research of regional logistics, equipment operation and maintenance, supporting processing and other related industries.
