Daicel Corporation announced that its AS resin production line at the Hirohata Factory in Himeji City, Hyogo Prefecture, plans to officially cease production by the end of March 2028.

Due to the dual factors of changing downstream demand structure and intensifying sector market competition, the operating pressure of the AS resin business has continued to increase. In light of the company's medium-term research strategy, Daicel ultimately made the decision to terminate this production business after a thorough assessment from the perspective of the future direction of the business and the optimal allocation of operating resources.

The suspension of AS resin production this time is implemented in conjunction with the previously disclosed equity transfer of Toyo Styrene Co., Ltd., which together constitute an crucial part of Daicel's structural adjustment of its styrene-based business.

The company stated that before the official suspension of production, it will make every effort to ensure the stable supply of existing customers, orderly complete various customer docking and transition arrangements, and minimize supply chain disruptions caused by business changes.
