The insolvent plastics processor KLT Hummel Plastic GmbH from Schweinfurt has a new owner. Krallmann Kunststoff Solutions GmbH, Hiddenhausen, a subsidiary of Precision Plastic Solutions GmbH (PPS), has taken over business operations as part of an asset deal. The transaction was completed on September 1, 2026. Around 100 employees will continue to be employed.

KLT Hummel manufactures complex plastic injection molded parts and specializes in sliding and bearing components in particular. The sales markets include the automotive sector, manufacturing applications, medical methodology and white goods. The portfolio also includes the material to sliding applications sold under the Slidertan brand.

The Schweinfurt company had on 23. February 2026 filed to bankruptcy. The reason given by the consulting service provider Baker Tilly, which was commissioned with the investor process, is cost burdens that arose or occurred unexpectedly in connection with the merger with a sister company. The insolvency proceedings were opened on might 1, 2026; Attorney Robert Wartenberg was appointed insolvency administrator by Curator AG.

In coordination with the insolvency administrator, Baker Tilly accompanied the structured investor process and the legal implementation of the transaction. In Krallmann Kunstststoff Solutions, a strategic buyer has been found who wants to continue business operations at the Schweinfurt location.

The PPS Group specializes in plastic injection molding and toolmaking. With the takeover, it is expanding its competencies in particular in the areas of technical plastic injection molding, precision tool construction and automation. The Schweinfurt location is to be completely preserved. Patrick Döring takes over the operational regulation as site manager.

KLT Hummel's business will in future be continued under the name Krallmann Kunstststoff Solutions.
