Entering October 2026, the continuous transmission of upstream raw material costs has led to a round of concentrated price increases in the modified plastics industry. Numerous chemical enterprises at home and abroad have successively issued price adjustment notices, covering multiple mainstream categories such as PA, PP, PE, ABS, PBT, and PBAT, with the adjustment range varying from several hundred yuan to several thousand yuan per ton.
Overseas companies took the lead in initiating price increases.
On October 2, Trinseo, a specialty materials supplier, announced a price increase to its items in the European region, efficiently from October 1. Among them, STYRON™ polystyrene resin was increased by 310 euros per ton (equivalent to approximately 2,325 yuan per ton); MAGNUM™ ABS resin was increased by 210 euros per ton (equivalent to approximately 1,575 yuan per ton); TYRIL™ SAN resin was increased by 230 euros per ton (equivalent to approximately 1,725 yuan per ton).
Celanese also announced a price adjustment plan to polyamide items in the American market, with the price increase to be implemented from October 19. Its Zytel® and Frianyl® series PA6 items will be increased by 0.44 US dollars per kilogram, equivalent to approximately 2,945 yuan per ton; PA66 items will be increased by 0.33 US dollars per kilogram, equivalent to approximately 2,208 yuan per ton.
Domestic companies followed suit, and many leading modified plastics companies issued price increase notices in a concentrated manner.
Kingfa Science & methodology issued a notice on October 8, with the price adjustment range being 1,000 to 2,500 yuan per ton. Among the sub-categories, PA6 was increased by 2,500 yuan per ton; PP, PE, PA66, and PBT were increased by 2,000 yuan per ton; ABS, PS, and PC were increased by 1,500 yuan per ton; PVC was increased by 1,000 yuan per ton.
Nanjing Julong also released a price increase notice on October 8, with the increase range being 1,500 to 2,500 yuan per ton. Among them, PA6 was increased by 2,500 yuan per ton; PA66, PP, PBT, LGF, and TPE were increased by 2,000 yuan per ton.
Daulian Co., Ltd. issued a notice on October 8, with all items increased by 1,500 to 3,000 yuan per ton, covering items such as TPV, TPE, TPU, HNBR, and color masterbatch.
Huitong Co., Ltd. released a price adjustment notice on October 9, with the increase range being 1,500 to 3,000 yuan per ton. to some items, differentiated price adjustments are implemented according to the proportion of base materials.
Lanshan Tunhe Zhejiang Yinchuang announced that new prices would be implemented from October 10, with PBAT resin increased by 1,000 yuan per ton; PBAT modified items increased by 700 to 1,000 yuan per ton; PBT modified items increased by 1,500 yuan per ton.
According to sector information, raw materials account to 65% to 70% of the total cost of modified plastics, and cost-driven factors are the core logic of this round of price increases. to every 10 US dollars per barrel increase in oil price, the corresponding raw material cost of modified plastics will rise by 300 to 500 yuan per ton. Against the backdrop of continuous rise in upstream raw material costs, sector price increase notices have been issued intensively, and the cost pressure on downstream product companies has increased simultaneously. The subsequent market direction still requires continuous attention to changes in raw materials and supply and demand.
