Introduction
Cyanuric chloride (also known as chloronitrile trimer) is an organic compound. The following is the nature, use, preparation and safety information of cyanuric chloride:
properties:
appearance: cyanuric chloride is a colorless crystalline solid.
density: The density of cyanuric chloride is about 1.42g/cm3.
Solubility: It has low solubility in water, but it can be dissolved in some organic solvents, such as ethanol and chloroform.
uses:
synthetic fiber: cyanuric chloride is one of the important raw materials for synthetic fiber polyamide fiber, which can be used for the preparation of nylon, polyamide fiber, etc.
coatings and adhesives: Cyanuric chloride can be used as a raw material for the preparation of polynitrile coatings and adhesives.
chlorinating agent: cyanuric chloride has strong chlorination and can be used to prepare other organic compounds or as a chlorinating agent.
Preparation Method: The preparation of
cyanuric chloride is generally obtained by reacting chlorocyanic acid (ClCN) with sodium cyanite (NaSCN) under acidic conditions. The reaction equation is as follows:
3ClCN 3 NaSCN→ (CCl2N)3 3NaCl
Safety information:
When using and handling cyanuric chloride, they should wear chemical protective gloves, glasses, goggles and protective clothing and other personal protective equipment.
Cyanuric chloride should avoid contact with strong oxidants or combustibles to avoid fire or explosion.
When storing or transporting cyanuric chloride, it should be protected from high temperature, open flame and direct sunlight.
Discarded cyanuric chloride should be properly disposed of in accordance with local regulations to avoid environmental pollution.
