Ma'aden Aluminium Company Introduction
Ma'aden Aluminium is a leading integrated aluminum producer based in Saudi Arabia. It is a key subsidiary of the Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Ma'aden), one of the largest mining companies in the Middle East.
The company operates an extensive, fully integrated aluminum complex, which includes:
* A bauxite mine in Al Ba'itha, processing bauxite ore.
* An alumina refinery in Ras Al Khair, converting bauxite into alumina.
* An aluminum smelter, also in Ras Al Khair, producing primary aluminum metal.
* An aluminum rolling mill, which transforms primary aluminum into flat-rolled products such as beverage can sheets, automotive sheets, and other industrial applications.
* A cast house for producing various aluminum billets and ingots.
Ma'aden Aluminium was initially established as a joint venture between Ma'aden and Alcoa, though Ma'aden later acquired Alcoa's stake, making it wholly owned by Ma'aden. The complex represents one of the world's largest and most technologically advanced integrated aluminum facilities, playing a crucial role in diversifying Saudi Arabia's industrial base and contributing significantly to the global aluminum supply chain. Its operations cover the entire value chain from raw material to finished and semi-finished aluminum products.
