SAIPA, which stands for "Société Anonyme Iranienne de Production Automobile," was established in 1965. Initially, it assembled Citroën vehicles under license. Over the decades, SAIPA expanded its operations significantly, becoming one of the largest automakers in Iran. The company produces its own branded vehicles and also manufactures models under license from international partners, though the latter has seen fluctuations due to geopolitical factors.
