The U.S. Pharmacopeial Convention (USP) is a global scientific, non-profit organization dedicated to improving public health. USP develops and publishes public standards for medicines, food ingredients, and dietary supplements, ensuring their identity, strength, quality, and purity. While USP has a presence and engages with stakeholders in India to promote quality standards and public health, it does not operate manufacturing facilities (factories) nor does it engage in the commercial trading of products. Its role is to set and uphold scientific standards that manufacturers worldwide rely upon.

The U.S. Pharmacopeial Convention (USP) is an independent, scientific, nonprofit organization that sets standards for the identity, strength, quality, and purity of medicines, food ingredients, and dietary supplements.
