BANGLADESH INDIA FRIENDSHIP POWER COMPANY (BIFPCL) is a joint venture enterprise established through a partnership between the Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) and India's National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) Limited. Its core mission is to develop, construct, own, and operate power generation facilities within Bangladesh.

Key Activities:

BIFPCL is primarily engaged in the implementation and operation of large-scale thermal power projects. Its most significant undertaking is the Maitree Super Thermal Power Project, also known as the Rampal Power Plant. The company's activities encompass the entire process of power generation, from project execution and commissioning to the ongoing operation and maintenance of power plants, thereby contributing to Bangladesh's energy security and infrastructure development.

Ownership:

It is a 50:50 joint venture between the Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) and India's National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) Limited.

The Bangladesh India Friendship Power Company (Pvt.) Ltd. (BIFPCL) primarily produces and sells electricity.
