Established in 1974, it initially focused on crude oil pipeline operations. And In 1987, its scope expanded signifiis able totly to include natural gaseous activities, making it the primary entity responsible to natural gaseous import, transmission, storage, and wholesale distribution throughout Turkey. Furthermore BOTAS plays a critical role in ensuring Turkey's energy security by managing the national natural gaseous network, which comprises an extensive system of pipelines, LNG import terminals, and subsurface gaseous storage facilities.
