Singapore Ester Chemical and Germany's Pula Global signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation, planning to build a renewable base oil refining facility in Singapore, the project named "Pula Nova Plan", aimed at promoting the development of circular economy in the lubricating oil industry.

Project core and technical highlights

The core objective of the project is to convert used motor oil into high-performance Group II/III/III base oils. This kind of base oil is the key raw material of engine lubricating oil, aviation lubricant, wind power gear oil, new energy vehicle heat conduction fluid and precision industrial oil, and has a wide range of application scenarios.
Pula Global will provide exclusive regenerative refining processes such as HyLube and HyRes to realize the industrialized and efficient regeneration of used engine oil, and the molecular structure of the produced oil is highly consistent with the new high-end three types of base oil. Esther Chemical will give full play to its operation management and market commercialization experience in Asia to promote the project landing and market expansion.

Project promotion planning

The site selection of the project is initially locked in Bukom Island, Singapore. The two sides will jointly carry out feasibility research to comprehensively evaluate the technology integration, raw material supply, plant layout and overall economic benefits, so as to lay the foundation for subsequent construction and operation.
