General purpose polystyrene (GPPS) grade prices journey northward in the GCC

This week, GPPS prices marched higher while HIPS prices were left unchanged in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region.

An sector source in the GCC region told a Polymerupdate team member, “GPPS prices in the GCC region rose amid firmer market expectations, while buyers continued to make need-based purchases to secure material availability. while overall market sentiment remained largely steady, cautious procurement and limited spot availability from some suppliers provided support to prices.”

GPPS prices were assessed at USD 1600–1750/mt CFR levels, a spike of USD (+50/mt) from the previous week.

Meanwhile, HIPS prices were assessed flat at USD 1650–1800/mt CFR levels.
