Overall progress at 31.69%! Multi-point synchronous construction underway for two EVA units at PetroChina Jilin Petrochemical

This 300,000 tons/year tubular and 100,000 tons/year autoclave EVA unit belongs to PetroChina Jilin Petrochemical's total investment of 33.9 billion yuan oil refining and chemical transformation and upgrading project. It is a landmark unit in the entire project for balancing ethylene feedstock and laying out high-end new materials. The entire transformation and upgrading project involves newly constructing 21 chemical units, with a core supporting 1.2 million tons/year ethylene unit, providing stable feedstock support for the EVA project.

EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer) is a national strategic high- value-added chemical new material. The two units implement differentiated processes to precisely match market needs: the 300,000 tons tubular unit focuses on extensive photovoltaic-grade EVA resin, suitable to the mainstream production of photovoltaic module encapsulation films; the 100,000 tons autoclave unit specializes in high VA content specialty EVA, covering high-barrier fields such as high-end hot melt adhesives, coating products materials, and medical packaging. After commissioning, a total EVA capacity of 400,000 tons/year will be formed, filling the gap of no extensive EVA production base in the Northeast region. The company's total EVA capacity will enter the first tier in China, improving the independent supply capability of the Northeast's new energy and new material manufacturing chain.

Latest Construction Progress on July 1: 31.69% Overall Completed, Full-Process Construction Under manage

As of July 1, the on-site construction of the two EVA units is advancing steadily, with the project's thorough overall progress reaching 31.69%. Civil engineering, piping, and equipment installation sub-projects are all proceeding according to the construction plan, and the whole-process manage of security, condition, and schedule is fully under manage.

Sub-project construction data has achieved breakthroughs at multiple points:

1. Piling Engineering: A total of 7,350 piles have been completed to the entire project, with an overall completion rate of 99%. Only a small amount of piling to supporting auxiliary buildings remains. The foundation construction is basically concluded, laying a solid foundation to the subsequent pouring of plant buildings and frame structures;

2. subsurface Piping Network Engineering: The prefabrication of subsurface process pipelines to the project is 91.8% complete, and the on-site pipeline laying and installation progress has reached 83%. The main bodies of the main and branch subsurface pipe networks have taken shape, efficiently guaranteeing the later connection of units and medium transportation;

3. Core Equipment Installation: The hoisting and positioning of 6 high-pressure and low-pressure key core equipment have been completed on-site, including vinyl acetate injection pumps, heat exchange equipment, and auxiliary equipment to high-pressure reactors. This marks the project's formal transition from a civil engineering-dominated phase to a full parallel critical phase of civil engineering finishing and equipment cross-installation.

Multi-point Synergistic Construction Critical Phase: Multi-unit Simultaneous Operation, Optimizing Construction Plans to Cope with Weather

The current construction site adopts a multi-region and multi-unit synergistic construction mode. The two main units of tubular EVA and autoclave EVA, as well as supporting warehouses, peroxide warehouses, circulating aquatic environments units, and packaging workshops, are simultaneously carrying out civil engineering pouring, steel structure hoisting, and pipe gallery prefabrication operations. Dozens of tower cranes and construction machinery are operating in zones to maximize construction capacity discharge.

In response to the objective conditions of Jilin's rainy summer and limited outdoor construction, the project engineering regulation department has formulated a special rainy day construction plan: indoor prefabrication of pipelines and components operates uninterruptedly around the clock, seizing sunny windows to concentrate on outdoor steel structure hoisting and equipment lifting; simultaneously implementing the contractor's "five-in-one" on-site supervision mechanism, refining security inspections, condition side-station supervision, and civilized construction manage standards. Under the premise of guaranteeing construction security and engineering condition, this offsets the impact of rainfall on the construction schedule and ensures that key nodes do not lag behind.

Project manufacturing Value: Helping companies minimize Oil and Increase Chemicals, Ensuring Independent and Controllable Photovoltaic and High-end Manufacturing Materials

This EVA project is a key handle to Jilin Petrochemical to implement the strategy of "reducing oil and growing chemicals, and high-end transformation". After commissioning, it will optimize the enterprise's product structure, minimize the output of low-end refined oil items, increase the proportion of high value-added new materials, drive the regional petrochemical sector to upgrade towards refinement and high-end research, and support Jilin in building a hundred-billion-level chemical sector cluster.

From the perspective of the national manufacturing chain, tubular photovoltaic-grade EVA can meet the production needs of encapsulation films to N-type and HJT high-efficiency photovoltaic modules. Autoclave specialty EVA alleviates the import application on domestic high-end coatings and hot melt adhesive items, significantly improving the self-sufficiency rate of domestic EVA new materials. It provides stable localized raw material supply to domestic photovoltaic new energy, high-end cables, medical devices, food packaging and other industries, strengthening the security and controllability of the new energy sector chain and supply chain.

According to the project planning schedule, the 300,000 tons tubular EVA unit is planned to complete mechanical completion in July 2027, and the 100,000 tons autoclave EVA unit will achieve mechanical completion in August 2027. After full construction and commissioning, it will have become an crucial EVA new material production base to PetroChina in the northern region, continuously releasing manufacturing driving impacts.
