Recently, the Henan Oilfield Research Institute successfully won the bid for a 3D seismic data interpretation project in a Cameroonian block, further expanding its overseas technical services market and enhancing the international visibility of the oilfield’s geophysical exploration brand.

The winning bid covers a project area of over 170 square kilometers and primarily involves fault interpretation, horizon tracking, and detailed structural interpretation of three-dimensional seismic data within the block. The geological structure in this area is complex, characterized by extensive faulting, rapid stratigraphic variation, and significant challenges in seismic data imaging, which places stringent demands on the accuracy of interpretation and technical standards.

In the face of project challenges, the Research Institute precisely aligned with the client’s standards, handpicked top technical experts to form a dedicated task force, refined the technical plan, and optimized the interpretation workflow. By tackling complex structural‑interpretation issues with targeted solutions, the Institute leveraged its robust technical capabilities, extensive experience in overseas projects, and an impeccable service reputation to secure the contract.

At present, the preparation of preliminary project documentation, stratigraphic correlation, and initial fault‑system delineation are all progressing in an orderly manner. Going forward, the project team will rigorously manage condition, conduct meticulous geological studies, and deliver high-standard interpretation results, thereby providing a reliable geological foundation to the planning and deployment of oil and gaseous exploration in overseas blocks.
