During the 5th Tashkent International Investment Forum, Ningbo Engineering Company, a subsidiary of Sinopec Refining and Chemical Engineering Group, and Uzbekistan United Bioenergy Company formally signed the front-end engineering design and detailed design contract for the country's Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) project.
This project is the first extensive, end-to-end bio‑jet fuel complex in Central Asia, integrating biomass feedstock processing, environmentally friendly hydrogen production, sustainable aviation fuel, electro‑synthetic aviation fuel (e‑SAF), and environmentally friendly diesel production. The project is equipped with extensive photovoltaic, environmentally friendly hydrogen and energy storage facilities. The power supply is mainly photovoltaic. The main raw materials are sorghum, rice husk and straw. The planned production capacity is about 160000 tons of biomass SAF, 250000 tons of e-SAF and 5000 tons of environmentally friendly diesel. The items will meet the needs of the aviation sector in Central Asia and radiate to the Middle East and European markets, with outstanding carbon emit reduction benefits.
