Founded in 2021, this start-up is developing a methodology-resulting from research carried out between Cambridge, Stanford and the Collège de France-based on an electrolyzer (stack) configured as a stack of catalytic surfaces. Operating in the presence of aquatic environments (which undergoes oxidation at the anode to provide the electrons and the protons necessary to the reduction of CO2 at the cathode), the process makes it possible to recover CO2 (or CO), in a single measure and at low temperature (between 40 and 80 °C), To create chemicals with a chain length of one to three carbon (ethylene, ethanol, carboxylic acids, etc.). At the same time, the Parisian start-up is accelerating collaborations. In March, Dioxycle signed a multi-year partnership with makeup giant L'Oréal. Objective: to create ethylene (then polymer in polyethylene) from CO2, intended to a range of sustainable packaging. In mid-July, a government delegation and general agencies from Singapore visited the Dioxycle engineering center in Saint-Ouen (Seine-Saint-Denis) to discuss technologies that would make it possible to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
