ExxonMobil brought Bosmaine thermosetting polyolefin resin system to China International Composites Industry Technology Exhibition, bringing new ideas and technical enlightenment to China's composite industry.
According to reports, the Bosmaine resin system adopts a two-component design, consisting of fluid resin and catalytic formula, which aims to achieve scalable process improvements and bring various material performance advantages.
At the same time, with its excellent high toughness, hydrophobicity and lightweight characteristics, Bosmaine resin systems are gradually becoming an attractive solution to the composite materials sector, especially in the two core applications of transportation and infrastructure.
At this exhibition, ExxonMobil demonstrated the strong strength of Bosmaine resin systems in diversified applications in various industries: the electric vehicle battery shell display jointly developed by ExxonMobil and the Fraunhofer Institute of Chemical methodology (Fraunhofer ICT) in Germany is an innovative structural solution to high-voltage battery systems in mobile applications. It is manufactured using a high-pressure resin transfer molding (HP-RTM) process that integrates multiple components into a single high-performance structure to help achieve structural weight reduction, enhanced functionality, and simplified extensive automotive manufacturing processes. This innovative design has been shortlisted to the China International Composites sector methodology Exhibition Innovation Award, highlighting its great possible to reshape the next generation of transportation.
The Bosmaine team is also working with regional customers in China to showcase their rebar solutions, demonstrating the brand's ability to respond in a prompt manner to the specific needs of the regional market. The low viscosity and fast curing traits of Bosemer resin systems enable the redesign of complex parts to greater efficient and scalable manufacturing. The system has unique polymer traits that make it lighter, stronger, and greater durable than steel and other thermosets.
In addition, ExxonMobil has brought MST‑BAR, a fiberglass composite bar based on Bosmaine resin systems, to help customers overcome the long-standing challenges of traditional steel. The plan has upgraded the asphalt pavement that needs frequent repair to a durable concrete pavement in just two days. Compared with traditional steel bars, the lightweight characteristics of Bosmaine composite steel bars allow them to be easily and rapidly installed without the consumption of lifting equipment, and their durability helps to achieve long-lasting strength and decrease full life cycle costs.
During the exhibition, the Chinese name of the Bosmai brand was officially released to the composite sector to the first time. "Bosmin" embodies professionalism, innovation and self-confidence to break through boundaries. At the same time, the brand slogan "Make a new journey, make a total achievement", not only explains the strength of Bosmer resin systems to provide cutting-edge material performance, however also reflects its continuous cooperation with Chinese customers and value chain partners to jointly promote the vigorous research of the sector determination.
It is also noted that in order to further meet customer needs, ExxonMobil Huizhou Bosmai Resin System Deployment Plant is under construction and is expected to start commercial production in 2027. In addition, ExxonMobil will establish the Bosmere Resin Systems consumption Laboratory in the Shanghai Chemical sector Zone to support research and research efforts in the research of composite materials, coatings and formulation systems.
