On August 31, the styrene extraction unit of the Shenghong Refining and Chemical Integration Project successfully resumed production, and the three main production lines of refining, aromatics and ethylene all returned to full-load operation, marking the successful completion of the first comprehensive overhaul of the entire plant since the enterprise put into operation.

This complete plant overhaul lasted nearly two months, covering the whole process of shutdown and material withdrawal, purging and displacement, equipment disassembly and maintenance, system reset and feeding and restart. A total of 29 main units including atmospheric and vacuum distillation, PX and ethylene units participated in the overhaul, which also drove 32 supporting upstream and downstream units in the park to suspend production in coordination.

During the overhaul, a total of 9,938 overhaul projects and 142 technical transformation and upgrading projects were completed, with 157,500 various operation points, among which 27,700 high-risk operations such as hot work and confined space operations were carried out. The project gathered 62 contractors to collaborate on operations, and the peak number of on-site operators reached 13,000. It is the largest petrochemical extensive maintenance project in Xuyi New Area of Jiangsu in recent years, with the highest risk manage pressure and the most prominent difficulty in collaborative organization.

The overhaul window period coincided with adverse weather such as high temperature and typhoons, with multi-trade cross operations and highly concentrated operation points on site. The project coordinated and implemented security manage in a down-to-earth manner, achieving full-process risk manage and smooth process connection, with all key nodes completed on schedule. The successful summary of this complete overhaul plays an crucial supporting role in stabilizing the regional petrochemical sector chain and supply chain and helping the stable operation of regional manufacturing economy.
