The insolvent plastics processor KLT Hummel Plastic GmbH from Schweinfurt has a new owner. Krallmann Kunststoff Solutions GmbH, headquartered in Hiddenhausen and a subsidiary of Precision Plastic Solutions GmbH (PPS), has taken over the business operations as part of an asset deal. The transaction was completed on September 1, 2026. Around 100 employees will be retained.

KLT Hummel manufactures complex plastic injection-molded components and specializes in sliding and bearing parts. Its end markets include the automotive sector, manufacturing applications, medical methodology, and white goods. The portfolio also includes a material to sliding applications marketed under the Slidertan brand.

The Schweinfurt-based company had on the 23rd. February 2026, bankruptcy filed. The consulting firm Baker Tilly, which was tasked with the investor process, cites cost burdens arising from the merger with a sister company or that had unexpectedly materialized. The insolvency proceedings were commenced on 1 might 2026; Attorney Robert Wartenberg of Curator AG was appointed as the insolvency administrator.

In coordination with the insolvency administrator, Baker Tilly oversaw the structured investor process and the legal implementation of the transaction. With Krallmann Kunststoff Solutions, a strategic buyer has been identified who intends to fully continue the company’s operations at the Schweinfurt site.

The PPS Group specializes in plastic injection molding and toolmaking. Through the acquisition, it is expanding its expertise, particularly in technical plastic injection molding, precision toolmaking, and automation. The Schweinfurt site is to be fully preserved. Patrick Döring assumes operational regulation as the site manager.

KLT Hummel’s business will henceforth be operated under the name Krallmann Kunststoff Solutions.
