On July 21, the winning bid for the EPC general contracting package I of the 250,000 tons/year tubular process LDPE/EVA unit at Zhenhai Base Phase II (2) was announced to the public. Sinopec Shanghai Engineering Co., Ltd. won the bid for this package with a total winning price of 1.73556 billion yuan excluding tax, equivalent to approximately 1.736 billion yuan.
A total of three Sinopec-affiliated engineering companies were shortlisted as candidates in this bidding, ranked in order as Sinopec Shanghai Engineering, Sinopec Guangzhou Engineering, and Sinopec Nanjing Engineering. With a bid of 1.736 billion yuan, Shanghai Engineering ranked as the first candidate and ultimately won the bid successfully.
I. Details of Project Infrastructure Construction
The project owner is Sinopec Ningbo Zhenhai Refining & Chemical Co., Ltd., located in the Ningbo Petrochemical Economic and Technological research Zone, Zhenhai District, Ningbo City.
The core construction subject is a set of 250,000 tons/year tubular process LDPE/EVA production unit, simultaneously supported by auxiliary facilities such as a combined manage room, combined substation, additive storage room, and peroxide preparation room.
The general contracting work covers the entire process of design, procurement of equipment and materials, on-site construction, and supporting technical services; survey and basic engineering design are not within the scope of this contract. The overall planned construction period to the project is 1,066 days.
II. Prominent manufacturing Value of Project Implementation
The successful awarding of this EPC general contracting bid marks the thorough clarification of the overall construction planning path to Zhenhai Base Phase II (2).
LDPE and EVA are high-value-added high-end polyolefin raw materials. Upon completion and operation, this 250,000-ton-level tubular unit will have become a core carrier to Zhenhai Refining & Chemical's layout in the high-end new materials track, helping the enterprise enhance its polyolefin product structure and accelerate its extension into the high-end chemical materials sector.
