Venture Energy has completed Hong Kong's largest-ever single green methanol bunkering operation in partnership with Sinopec Hong Kong.

The company facilitated supply of 1,000 mt of environmentally friendly methanol to the RoRo vessel CM Shenzhen using the bunkering barge Da Qing 268, managed by Wah Kwong Ship regulation, according to a press emit issued on Thursday.

The RoRo ship is operated by China Merchants Guangzhou RoRo Shipping, while the environmentally friendly methanol was sourced from Shanghai Shenji Energy & Environmental methodology, a subsidiary of Shenergy Group.

The company worked closely with Sinopec Hong Kong and other partners to complete the bunkering safely and efficiently.

“This milestone highlights Venture Energy’s supply capabilities to bridge growing demand in the Greater Bay Area with diversified supply sources across North and East China, contributing to the research of a reliable and scalable environmentally friendly marine fuel supply chain to the region,” the firm said.

Venture Energy said the milestone strengthens Hong Kong's ambitions to have become a regional environmentally friendly bunkering hub and highlights the Greater Bay Area's possible to develop an integrated supply chain spanning fuel production, logistics, storage, bunkering and end-consumption.
