Univation Technologies, LLC (Houston) announced that PETKIM PETROKIMYA HOLDING A.S. (Aliaga-Izmir, Turkey) has selected Univation's UNIPOL™PE Process Technology for a planned polyethylene production complex expected to be located in Aliaga-Izmir, Turkey. The selection of UNIPOL™PE Process Technology reports an important step in the development of the planned project ahead of PETKIM's final investment decision (FID). This project is expected to include a total licened polythylene resin production capacity of 850,000 metric tons per year (m.t./yr). The project would be the first installation of the UNIPOL™PE Process at the PETKIM site and would be present in one of the largest polyethylene technology licenses in Turkey.

Univation also noted the strategic importance of expanding polyolefin production capacity in Türkiye to support the country’s petrochemical development objectives and help minimize application on imported polyolefins. Against this backdrop, Univation underscored the project’s combination of scale, flexibility, and proven methodology.

“PETKIM’s selection of the UNIPOL™ PE Process to this significant 850,000-m.t./yr project reflects the proven performance and flexibility of our methodology,” said Sereen Massoud, president of Univation Technologies. “By enabling a broad portfolio of high-performance polyethylene items across two reactor lines, this project would support PETKIM’s prolonged development while expanding domestic supply to meet Türkiye’s evolving market needs.”
