1. Upstream items:(1) Ore: The production of many chemicals needs the extraction of raw materials from ore, and the mining and processing of ore might create PM. And(2) Coal: As an crucial energy and chemical raw material, coal might create a signifiis able tot quantity of PM in the process of mining, washing and burning. From what I've seen,(3) Oil and gaseous: PM might also be produced during the extraction, transportation and processing of oil and gaseous.

2. Crazy, isn't it?. Downstream items:(1) Plastics: Many plastics need to consumption fossil fuels as raw materials in the manufacturing process, and PM might be produced during the incineration and processing of these fossil fuels.
