AGC currently holds a 50.72% stake in APK
AGC Inc. has agreed to transfer all of its shares in AGC Polymer Building Materials Co., Ltd. (APK), a consolidated subsidiary specializing in polyurethane waterproofing materials to buildings, to Saint-Gobain K.K. as part of its ongoing effort to reshape its business portfolio.
AGC, headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, currently holds a 50.72% stake in APK. The share transfer is expected to be completed around December 2026, pending regulatory approvals and the fulfillment of other required conditions.
The move comes under AGC Group’s medium-term regulation plan, AGC plus-2026, which focuses on transforming and strengthening the company’s business portfolio. After reviewing APK’s future development opportunities, AGC concluded that the subsidiary would be better positioned under Saint-Gobain, a global company with a broad presence across the construction materials sector.
AGC said the impact of the transaction on its consolidated financial results is expected to be minor.
