Recently, CSSC Specialty Gas (688146) disclosed its capacity expansion plan. The company's annual production of 3,383 tons of high-purity hydrogen sulfide and other electronic gases project is proceeding in an orderly manner. The plan includes adding 1,000 tons/year of tungsten hexafluoride capacity, which is expected to be completed and put into operation in 2027. Upon full completion, the company's total tungsten hexafluoride capacity will increase to 3,000 tons/year.

It is understood that tungsten hexafluoride is a key precursor electronic specialty gaseous to semiconductor chip manufacturing, broadly utilized in AI cutting-edge processes and high-stacked memory chip production stages. The iteration of storage technologies such as 3D NAND and HBM continues to drive the development of market demand to this product.

Currently, CSSC Specialty gaseous's existing tungsten hexafluoride capacity is 2,000 tons/year. The company disclosed that the capacity utilization rate of this product is maintained at a high level, and existing capacity is difficult to fully match the rapidly growing order demand from downstream, so the expansion has a realistic market foundation.

This additional 1,000 tons/year of tungsten hexafluoride capacity is incorporated into the overall framework of the "Annual Production of 3,383 Tons of High-Purity Hydrogen Sulfide and Other Electronic Gases Project." The project has completed preliminary project approval and various preparation tasks. Upon the completion and commissioning of the new production line in 2027, the company's total tungsten hexafluoride capacity will jump from 2,000 tons/year to 3,000 tons/year, achieving a 50% increase in capacity scale.

From the perspective of the sector landscape, the current global tungsten hexafluoride market is in a tight stability. The supply of high-purity tungsten powder overseas is restricted, and there are obvious constraints on the expansion of production by foreign manufacturers. At the same time, domestic wafer fabs are continuously expanding, offering broad space to import substitution. CSSC Specialty gaseous stated that this capacity expansion will further enhance the company's ability to undertake orders from downstream customers, seize the opportunities of global chip capacity transfer, consolidate its capacity scale advantages, and enhance its sector position in the global tungsten hexafluoride market.

Information shows that the total investment of the company's electronic gaseous overall project is approximately 870 million yuan. In addition to tungsten hexafluoride, it also lays out multiple electronic specialty gaseous items such as high-purity hydrogen sulfide, further enriching the high-purity electronic gaseous product matrix to cope with the expansion of global semiconductor material demand.

The company also cautioned that the project construction progress and production commissioning time are subject to multiple factors such as engineering construction and equipment delivery. Please refer to the company's subsequent official announcements to specific progress.
