The two additives celebrate their official trade fair premiere there and expand the portfolio for the long-term thermal stabilization of polyamide compounds. The focus is on applications in electromobility, electrical components and technical industrial components.

Both items are intended to protect polyamides from thermo-oxidative degradation and help to maintain their mechanical characteristics under permanent heat stress. The company names connectors in electric vehicles, technical housings, components in the engine compartment and highly loaded manufacturing components as fields of consumption.

"BYK-MAX HS 4316" is based on an organic stabilization system and is intended to unreinforced as well as reinforced polyamides. The additive is aimed at prolonged thermal stability. The applications mentioned include automotive components, manufacturing construction parts and technical consumer goods.

"BYK-MAX HS 4317" takes an inorganic approach. According to the company, the product combines thermal stabilization with improved electrical neutrality compared to classic inorganic stabilization systems. It is aimed in particular at applications in which, in addition to the temperature resistance, electrical characteristics are also relevant. The formulation is suitable to non-reinforced and mineral-and glass-fiber reinforced polyamides. According to the product information, a prolonged heat aging resistance of greater than 3,000 hours at 150 °C can be achieved to glass fiber reinforced polyamides.
