The support of the public authorities was not enough: the Exalia takeover project of the chemical plate. plate of Vengorex definitively abandoned in Pont-de-Claix

The leaders of the Exalia project, who planned to bring back part of the chemical platform of Vengorex, in Pont-de-Claix (Isère), threw in the towel. Pointing out the flaws in the judicial liquidation system.

The last hope of taking over the Vengorex manufacturing platform in Pont-de-Claix (Isère) has evaporated. The leaders of the Exalia project, Olivier Six, president of one of the subcontractors of the chemist from isérois, and Léverine Dejoux, former CGT delegate of the site, have just acted on its "definitive and irrevocable abandonment".

"The current deadlines, inertia and procedural obstacles definitively condemned a project which nevertheless represented the future of a strategic regional and national manufacturing sector", they write in a press discharge.

Their project to create salt, soda, fluid chlorine and hydrochloric acid locally had already suffered two setbacks. The first, in April 2025, when the Lyon economic activities court preferred to retain the offer to take over Vocorex by the Chinese group Wanua, via its Hungarian subsidiary BorsodChem. Then the second, in March, when the same court chose to call on a junkyard to dismantle the site's equipment and sell them to cutting.

A slim hope remained. During the CGT Assises of made in France organized precisely in Pont-de-Claix two days plus late, the Minister of sector, Sébastien Martin, had confided that he wanted to put each of us around the table in order to try to find a solution.

Las! The leaders of Exalia point to an "exclusive official": "the procedural frame of judicial liquidation and the rigidity of the consumption of this frame claimed by the judicial liquidator [which highlights] the prevalence of an immediate accounting logic on the general interest".

There remains only a "deep feeling of revolt, of magnitude and immense discarded materials," says Olivier Six.
