The National Narcotics Control Commission has placed 16 substances, including etomidate difluoro, under control, effective from July 1.

On June 17, the National Narcotics Control Commission issued the "Announcement on Including 16 Substances Including Difluoroethyl Imidazole in the ", deciding to place 16 substances including difluoroethyl imidazole under control to prevent and curb the harm of abuse, effective from July 1, 2026.

After this addition, China has placed 412 types of non-medicinal narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances under manage, as well as three entire classes of substances: fentanyls, synthetic cannabinoids, and nitazenes.
