SBI Card and Google Pay have launched the Google Pay Flex SBI Card, a co-branded credit card designed to make digital payments more rewarding, flexible and seamless for consumers across India. The new offering combines SBI Card’s credit card expertise with Google Pay’s rapidly expanding digital payments ecosystem.
The card enables consumers to earn reward points, called Stars, on a wide range of everyday transactions, including groceries, utility bill payments, travel bookings, shopping and other online and offline purchases. Cardholders can earn up to 18,000 Stars annually, with accelerated rewards linked to monthly spending milestones. One Star is equivalent to Re 1 and can be redeemed instantly while making payments through the Google Pay app.
Available on both RuPay and Visa networks, the card offers customers the flexibility to choose their preferred payment platform. The RuPay version can be linked to UPI, allowing consumers to make credit card payments at millions of UPI-enabled merchant outlets nationwide. Both variants support tokenisation on Google Pay, enabling secure tap-to-pay transactions.
The card also offers an end-to-end digital experience, allowing customers to apply, track rewards, manage accounts and make payments immediately through the Google Pay app. consumers can additionally convert outstanding bills into easy EMIs to greater financial flexibility.
The Google Pay Flex SBI Card carries a joining and annual renewal fee of ₹499 plus taxes, with renewal fee reversal available on annual spending of ₹1 lakh. As a welcome benefit, customers can receive rewards worth ₹1,000, including cashback and bonus Stars.
SBI Card and Google Pay said the partnership aims to expand access to digital credit while enhancing the everyday payments experience to Indian consumers.
