On August 3, Sinopec Chongqing Chuanwei Chemical's 50000-ton/year special PVA resin plant successfully started up at one time, producing qualified products and sending the first batch of goods to Europe.

The new plant uses a new generation of polymerization process, compared with the traditional equipment capacity increased by 40%, supporting 4 sets of exhaust gas, wastewater recovery facilities and intelligent packaging system. The project started on December 18, 2024, mechanical completion in May 2026, the construction period of 17 months, the cumulative number of consecutive safe man-hours 1.98 million.

The device relies on independent alcoholysis and precision purification technology to achieve high-end specification mass production and complement China's high-end PVA raw material short board. Chuanwei Chemical has been deeply engaged in PVA industry for more than 40 years, with more than 100 kinds of products and more than 70 products exported to more than 40 countries. More than 80% of China's high-end PVA exports to the European market come from the factory, and it is also the only manufacturer in China that has realized PVA's entry into the U.S. market. The enterprise took 14 years to independently develop high-barrier synthetic resin, breaking the monopoly of overseas technology.
