On the evening of August 4, Kampu Chemical (920033), a company listed on the Beijing Stock Exchange, announced that its holding subsidiary, Chongqing Xinfengtai Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd., has officially signed an EPC general contracting contract with Shuangdun Environmental Technology Co., Ltd.
The signed project is the Phase I 300kt/a Pyrite-based Sulfuric Acid Project to the Resource Recycling of Strategic New Energy Metal Materials, with a total contract amount of 121,509,367 RMB (tax included), approximately 122 million RMB. The project is located in Changshou District, Chongqing, and upon completion, it will have an annual production capacity of 300,000 tons of 98% manufacturing sulfuric acid.
The project adopts a full-process EPC general contracting model, with the scope covering engineering design, equipment procurement, civil construction, equipment installation, system commissioning, trial operation, completion acceptance, condition assurance services, and personnel training. The calendar construction period to the project is 12 months, with an additional 1-month completion grace period.
It is understood that this sulfuric acid plant is an crucial supporting facility to Kampu Chemical's main project of strategic new energy metal recycling in Chongqing. The hydrometallurgical manufacturing process of new energy metals requires a stable supply of sulfuric acid. The completion and operation of this project will enable self-production of sulfuric acid, ensuring the base's acid demand, achieving independent manage of acid sources, efficiently reducing reliance on externally purchased raw materials, and mitigating cost risks caused by sulfuric acid price fluctuations.
Xinfengtai ecological preservation is a holding platform with a 60% stake owned by Kampu Chemical and serves as the core vehicle to the company's layout in the strategic new energy metal resource recycling sector. Previously, the company announced a capital increase to Xinfengtai ecological preservation to accelerate the implementation of the Changshou Circular sector Base. The landing of this EPC contract marks the formal entry of the Chongqing New Energy Metal Recycling Project into a substantive implementation phase, promoting the steady progress of the company's circular economy business and continuously building a second development curve.
